Here is a wonderful text by Auður Aðalsteinsdóttir that she presented during our book launch at the Living Art Museum in Reykjavik 2020.

We encountered some problems while arranging the mass of six hundred speech bubbles. How do we want to organise them into a book? Do we select our favourite bubbles and highlight them? Should we divide them up thematically to maintain some sort of a narrative or simply embrace chaos and to hell with structure?

After some discussion we found it most important to stay true to the performance as it was in that action that these 600 speech bubbles have their source. Each speech bubble has a thought bubble inside of it. Why? Because we wanted to merge both. It is a discourse that searches for an alternative view in a dialogue. A thought process that can perhaps bolster us by pointing towards our commonality and faults, but at the same time deflate us just by doing so. This is why we felt we needed to include every written speech bubble - as if each one were a crucial link in a chain. The silliness in one sentence might in turn evoke a witty or a poetic response in another.

The book beholds pulsing texts by four wonderful humans that examine the notion of the feminine sublime all in their own manner. They are Christina Petkopoulou a curator based in Athens, Eva Rún Snorradóttir a writer and performing arts author based in Reykjavik, Iceland, Myrto Katsimicha a curator based in Αthens & Scarlett Platel a visual artist and curator based in Edinburg and London.

The book is designed by the miracle maker Dimitris Mitropoulos and printed in edition of 140 at FOTOLIO, Athens. Greece 2020. Became possible with the help of Myndlistarsjóður and Myndstef. The photographs in the book are by Steven Cook, Giannis Hariatidis & Aris Liaskos (Spacetime).
